As mentioned earlier, it’s not just faulty/aged fuseboards that need replacing. If you’re planning on renovation works that require alterations to wiring in the bathroom or kitchen, it’s important to know that in the UK, the new circuits must have RCD (Residual Current Device) protection - if this is absent within your current fuseboard then a fuseboard replacement would need to be factored into your plans.
Similarly if you’re installing devices/ appliances that demand a very high amount of power such as an EV Charger, a hardwired hot tub, solar panels or you are rewiring your property, this would require a fuseboard replacement to ensure that this can handle the capacity of the load and is able to offer live saving protection in the event of an electrical fault.
